Overview
The PLC-5 processors sit in the leftmost slot of a 1771 chassis and run the PLC-5 program over 1771, 1794, 1746 and 1791 I/O. Rockwell's publications 1785-IN062 (Enhanced PLC-5) and 1785-IN063 (Ethernet PLC-5) give each model's memory and channels: from the PLC-5/11 with 8K words and one DH+/remote I/O channel to the PLC-5/80 with 100K words and four, while the Ethernet models (PLC-5/20E, 40E and 80E) add an Ethernet channel. Rockwell lists them all as discontinued, the last in July 2017, and classes their replacement as an engineering replacement, a migration rather than a like-for-like swap. TIMC quotes PLC-5 processors against the catalog number, series and firmware on the label.
