Moxa MGate Modbus Gateways
DIN-rail units that convert between Modbus TCP on Ethernet and Modbus RTU or ASCII on RS-232.
Overview
An MGate MB3000 gateway sits between Ethernet and serial Modbus. Moxa describes the MGate MB3170 and MB3270 as 1-port and 2-port gateways that convert between Modbus TCP, ASCII and RTU, can be reached by up to 32 Modbus TCP clients and can connect to up to 32 Modbus TCP servers. Models in a series differ in ways the model name shows: an I after the number means 2 kV isolation on the serial port, -T means the -40 to 75°C wide-temperature version, and -M-SC, -M-ST or -S-SC mean a multi-mode or single-mode fibre Ethernet port in place of copper. Moxa states lifecycle per series, not per model, and each part page says which series statement it carries. TimControls quotes MGate units against the full model name on the label.
