About the Moxa MGate MB3270I

The Moxa MGate MB3270I is a 2-port Modbus gateway from Moxa's MGate MB3170/MB3270 Series. It differs from the MGate MB3270I-T in operating temperature only: Moxa gives 0 to 60°C for the MGate MB3270I and -40 to 75°C for the MGate MB3270I-T. Moxa lists two DB9 male connectors, two 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports with Ethernet cascade, a 12 to 48 VDC input and a plastic housing, with 2 kV serial isolation. Moxa marks the whole MGate MB3170/MB3270 Series not recommended for new design.

What is the MGate MB3270I used for?

The MGate MB3270I lets Modbus TCP clients such as SCADA servers read serial Modbus RTU or ASCII devices, and lets serial masters reach Modbus TCP servers. Moxa gives up to 32 client and 32 server connections.
