Siemens SIMATIC S7-200
The compact micro PLC, with CPU 22x units that hold the program, power supply and I/O in one housing.
Overview
The S7-200 is Siemens's earlier micro PLC. Each CPU 22x is one compact unit with its program memory, power supply and digital I/O, and expansion modules of the S7-22x series clip on beside it for more digital or analog I/O: up to 7 on a CPU 224 or CPU 226, according to Siemens's data sheets. Siemens cancelled these order numbers in 2017 and shows them as discontinued since November 2025, while still listing them as spare parts. SiePortal names no successor on these records. A failed S7-200 is usually replaced like for like, because a different controller means rewriting the program. TimControls quotes S7-200 CPUs and expansion modules against the order number on the failed unit.
