Moxa NPort Serial Device Servers
Units that put RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 serial equipment onto an Ethernet network.
Overview
An NPort maps each serial port to the network in an operation mode such as Real COM, TCP Server, TCP Client or UDP. Moxa builds the range in series: the NPort IA5000 and IA5000A are DIN-rail industrial device servers with two cascading Ethernet ports and redundant DC power inputs, the NPort 6000 series are secure terminal servers that encrypt serial data with TLS and SSH, and the NPort Express models are compact 1-port units. Within a series an I in the model name means 2 kV serial isolation and -T the -40 to 75°C version, and fibre models carry -M-SC or -S-SC. Moxa states lifecycle per series, not per model; each part page says which statement applies. TimControls quotes NPort units against the full model name on the label.
