About the Moxa NPort IA-5150-T

The Moxa NPort IA-5150-T is a 1-port serial device server from Moxa's NPort IA5000 Series. It is the wide-temperature twin of the NPort IA-5150: Moxa gives the NPort IA-5150-T an operating temperature of -40 to 75°C. Moxa lists one RS-232/422/485 port, two 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports with Ethernet cascade, two 12 to 48 VDC power inputs and DIN-rail mounting. Moxa marks the whole NPort IA5000 Series not recommended for new design and names the NPort IA5000-G2 Series as its recommended replacement.

What is the NPort IA-5150-T used for?

The NPort IA-5150-T puts one serial device, such as a PLC, meter or drive, onto an Ethernet network in cabinets that see wide temperature swings. The second Ethernet port lets the next device be cascaded without a separate switch.
