About the Moxa NPort 6450

The Moxa NPort 6450 is a 4-port secure device server from Moxa's NPort 6400/6600 Series. Moxa's pages set it apart from the NPort 6450-T as follows: it is the 0 to 55°C version of the NPort 6450-T, and unlike it Moxa lists an LCD panel display with push buttons for configuration. Moxa lists RS-232/422/485 serial ports on DB9 male connectors, one 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 port, a 12 to 48 VDC input and a metal housing of 1020 g. Moxa marks the whole NPort 6400/6600 Series not recommended for new design.

What is the NPort 6450 used for?

The NPort 6450 gives serial devices a network connection, with Moxa's secure operation modes for Real COM, TCP server and TCP client links. It suits sites that want the serial data encrypted on the network.
