About the Danfoss VLT 2880 380-480 V

The Danfoss VLT 2880 is an 11 kW frequency converter from the VLT 2800 series for 3 x 380-480 V supplies. Danfoss's VLT 2800 design guide gives it an output current of 24 A and 38.4 A for 60 s, and lists twelve ordering numbers, 195N1109 to 195N1120, for its versions: standard unit (ST) or with integral brake (SB), with or without RFI filter, and with or without a Profibus DP or DeviceNet fieldbus. Danfoss's product page states that the VLT 2800 has reached the Inactive phase of its lifecycle, meaning it is discontinued and no longer in production, and names the VLT Midi Drive FC 280 as its successor, with full backwards compatibility.

What is the VLT 2880 380-480 V used for?

It controls the speed of a three-phase AC motor on pumps, fans, conveyors and machines. A failed unit stops the motor it drives.
