Key takeaways
Every VLT 5000, VLT 6000 HVAC and VLT 8000 AQUA type we list, with the lifecycle phase and successor from Danfoss’s product page for its series and a link to it, checked on 16 October 2026.
Checked on 16 October 2026, Danfoss’s product pages put all three series, the VLT 5000, VLT 6000 HVAC and VLT 8000 AQUA, in the Inactive phase of their lifecycle: discontinued, no longer in production, with spare parts and service options no longer available from Danfoss.
Danfoss names a successor for each series: iC7-Automation for the VLT 5000, iC7-HVACR for the VLT 6000 HVAC and iC7-Aqua for the VLT 8000 AQUA. It recommends replacing these drives through its DrivePro Retrofit service, so plan the successor as a retrofit, not a like-for-like swap.
Danfoss publishes the phase for each series, not for each type code, and gives no date for it. So every type below carries its series’ phase and successor, with a link to the Danfoss page they come from. This list covers the 196 types we have pages for: 69 VLT 5000, 66 VLT 6000 HVAC and 61 VLT 8000 AQUA.
| Series | Danfoss phase | Successor named by Danfoss | Types on this list |
|---|---|---|---|
| VLT 5000 | Inactive | iC7-Automation | 69 |
| VLT 6000 HVAC | Inactive | iC7-HVACR | 66 |
| VLT 8000 AQUA | Inactive | iC7-Aqua | 61 |
Danfoss puts each AC drive in one of four lifecycle phases, described on its DrivePro Lifecycle Services page. This list shows the phase Danfoss gives each series.
| Danfoss phase | What Danfoss says it means | Status on this list |
|---|---|---|
| New | Best for new projects or retrofitting existing sites | Active |
| Active | Recommended for new installations and extensions to existing sites | Active |
| Limited | No longer sold; basic maintenance, spare parts and repair for a limited time | Phased out |
| Inactive | Discontinued; spare parts and service options no longer available | Discontinued |
Last checked against Danfoss’s product pages on 16 October 2026. Danfoss gives no dates for these phases.
Every phase below is from Danfoss’s product page for the type’s series. Danfoss can change a phase, so the Source link in each row is the reference. The CSV adds the series and the successor Danfoss names.
A status in this list tells you what Danfoss says about a series. It does not confirm that a unit is in stock, where it is or what condition it is in.
Two drives with the same type number can differ in supply voltage, enclosure, brake, filter and options. Send us the full type code from the label and we confirm the match before we quote.
