About the Allen-Bradley 1756-IB16I

The 1756-IB16I is a ControlLogix isolated input module (10-30 VDC Isolated Input 16 Pts, 36 pin). Its 16 inputs are individually isolated, wired sink or source, with a 10 to 30V DC operating range and 24V DC nominal. Off-state is 5V and 1.5 mA maximum; on-state current is 2 mA minimum at 10V DC and 10 mA maximum at 30V DC. It occupies one slot, in an open-style housing with temperature code T4.

What is the 1756-IB16I used for?

It brings 16 DC signals from separately powered field devices onto the ControlLogix backplane. Isolation is 250V continuous, basic insulation, between inputs and backplane and from input to input. Inputs can be time stamped to ±200 µs, and change of state is software configurable.
