Allen-Bradley SLC 500 Processors (1747)
Allen-Bradley SLC 500 modular processors: the SLC 5/03, SLC 5/04 and SLC 5/05 CPUs of the SLC 500 chassis-based PLC.
Overview
The SLC 5/03, SLC 5/04 and SLC 5/05 are the modular processors of the SLC 500, and Rockwell's publication 1747-IN009 gives their specifications. They share the instruction set (107 instructions), RSLogix 500 programming, and a local system of up to 3 chassis and 30 slots with up to 4096 discrete inputs and 4096 discrete outputs. They differ in memory, from 16 K to 64 K words, and in their built-in network: DH485 and RS-232 on the SLC 5/03, Data Highway Plus on the SLC 5/04, and Ethernet TCP/IP on the SLC 5/05, with other networks reached through gateways and interface modules. Rockwell lists them all as discontinued, and names the CompactLogix 5380 as an engineering replacement for the 1747-L533. TIMC quotes SLC processors against the catalog number, series and firmware on the label.
