About the Allen-Bradley 1756-L63

The Allen-Bradley 1756-L63 is the ControlLogix 8 MB Memory Controller, a ControlLogix 5560 family controller that Rockwell lists as Discontinued. According to Rockwell publication 1756-UM001, it has 8 MB of memory for data and logic, 478 KB of I/O memory and supports a maximum of 250 controller connections. The same publication lists one RS-232 serial port, six status indicators and a battery for clock support and memory retention at power-down. Back-up memory is an optional CompactFlash card, which does not come with the controller.
