Siemens SIMATIC ET 200M: remote I/O stations built from S7-300 modules behind an IM 153 interface module on PROFIBUS DP, discontinued by Siemens with the S7-300 in October 2025.
Overview
An ET 200M station is a rack of standard S7-300 I/O modules with an IM 153 interface module at its head instead of a CPU. The IM 153 connects the station to a PROFIBUS DP master, usually an S7-300 or S7-400 CPU, so the I/O can sit next to the machine rather than in the control cabinet. Siemens discontinued ET 200M together with the S7-300 on 1 October 2025 (product note 109809890): the interface modules and the S7-300 I/O in the station are now spare parts only. The I/O modules in an ET 200M station are the same order numbers as in an S7-300 rack, so they are listed in the S7-300 family. TIMC quotes new and surplus IM 153 modules against the order number on the failed unit.
