Overview
K-Chief 600 collects its signals through distributed processing units: small I/O modules placed close to the sensors and actuators, each connected to the rest of the system over a redundant CANopen field bus. The xe generation covers analogue inputs (RAi-16xe) and outputs (RAo-8xe), digital inputs for dry contacts (RDi-32xe) or active signals (RDi-32Axe), relay outputs (RDo-16xe), thermocouple inputs for exhaust temperatures (RAi-10tcxe), combined digital I/O with local logic (RIO-C2xe) and shaft torque interfaces (RTixe, and RTi-2xeL for hazardous areas), with the Segment Controller Unit (SCU) managing each local CAN segment. Parameters are stored in each module and downloaded from the system, so a like-for-like replacement takes its configuration from the running installation.
