About the Kongsberg 345304

The Kongsberg 345304 is the RTi-2xeL, the remote torque interface of Kongsberg's K-Chief 600 automation system that Kongsberg lists for use in Ex (hazardous) areas. Like the RTixe it measures shaft torque and RPM and calculates shaft power, but its sensor signals travel over fibre-optic cables from a laser transmitter, which makes them immune to electrical noise. Outputs are 4 analogue channels, two CAN networks and RS-422 for an external display. Kongsberg's datasheet lists its class approvals as pending at the time of issue.

What is the 345304 used for?

The RTi-2xeL is used for shaft power measurement where Kongsberg's Ex-area version is required. It feeds torque, RPM and power values to the automation system or an external display.
