About the Kongsberg ACP

The Kongsberg AutoChief Control Panel (ACP) is the main operator panel of the AutoChief C20 propulsion control system. It has a 7-inch colour display that shows the main engine as graphic mimics, a large central operation wheel used to select and activate them, and six metal-film push-buttons for cancelling shut downs and slow downs, transferring control, sound off and alarm acknowledge. From the panel the operator sees engine RPM, command RPM, start air, load, alarms and the remote control state, and can change set point limits and system settings. Kongsberg declared the AutoChief C20 system obsolete on 17 June 2025, with AutoChief 600 as the upgrade.

What is the ACP used for?

The ACP is normally installed on the navigation bridge and in the engine control room, flush-mounted in the console. It is where the crew control the main engine remotely, transfer command between locations and handle remote control alarms. It connects to the rest of the AutoChief C20 system over two CAN buses and two LAN ports, and has three potentiometer inputs and two relay outputs.

Part of AutoChief C20, which Kongsberg declared obsolete in June 2025.
