About the DEIF AGC-3

The DEIF AGC-3 is an automatic genset controller from DEIF's Multi-line 2 range: a compact unit with all the measuring, protection and control functions for one generator set, with values and alarms shown on its display. It covers automatic mains failure, island operation, fixed power, peak shaving, load takeover and mains export, and with options it handles load sharing and power management across several gensets. DEIF states that the AGC-3 has been phased out and replaced by the AGC-4 Mk II.

What is the AGC-3 used for?

The AGC-3 controls and protects a generator set: starting and stopping the engine, synchronising, closing the breaker and sharing load with other sets. When one fails in a running installation, an exact AGC-3 with the same options keeps the existing configuration; moving to the AGC-4 Mk II means reconfiguring the controller.
