About the DEIF PPM-2

The DEIF PPM (PPM-2) is a marine power management unit from DEIF's Multi-line 2 range. One unit per generator provides generator and busbar protection and engine control, and together the units run the power management: load-dependent start and stop with programmable priority, heavy consumer control, a blackout start sequence, trip of non-essential loads, and supervision of a shore breaker or bus coupler. DEIF's data sheet covers systems of 2 to 8 diesel generators with a shaft generator or shore connection.

What is the PPM-2 used for?

The PPM-2 is used in the main switchboard of ships with two to eight diesel generators. A failed unit is normally replaced with the same type, options and software, so that the power management configuration shared across the other units does not have to change.
