The Siemens 6GK7342-5DA03-0XE0 is the CP 342-5, the PROFIBUS card for the S7-300. Siemens's data sheet gives a 9-pin sub-D PROFIBUS interface at 9.6 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s, S5-compatible, PG/OP and S7 communication, and up to four cards per CPU. SiePortal lists it as product cancellation and its data sheet marks it as a spare part. Siemens names no direct successor for the order number; its route forward is migration to the S7-1500 with ET 200MP.
What is the 6GK7342-5DA03-0XE0 used for?
It adds a PROFIBUS DP line to an S7-300, for remote I/O stations such as ET 200M, drives and other PROFIBUS devices, or links the S7-300 to another PROFIBUS master.
