The S7-300 lifecycle at a glance
Siemens announced the phase-out on 1 October 2023 (PM400) and discontinued the system on 1 October 2025 (PM410). Since then modules are supplied only as spare parts, in spare-part quantities.
For a plant running S7-300 that leaves two routes: keep the system going with spare modules, or plan a migration. Spares are the practical answer for a breakdown or a machine with years left in it; migration is a project, because it means converting the hardware configuration and the program.
What Siemens names as the successor
Siemens names the S7-1500 system with ET 200MP I/O as the functional replacement for factory automation, and S7-400 or ET 200SP HA for process automation. It is a migration of hardware and program, not a module swap.
