About the Deep Sea Electronics DSE5220

The DSE5220 is the auto mains (utility) failure module of DSE's DSE5210 and DSE5220 pair. DSE says it includes all the features of the DSE5210 plus the ability to monitor a mains (utility) supply, and it adds a TEST button. DSE's data sheet gives a mains (utility) sensing input of 15 V (L-N) to 333 V AC (L-N) at 50-60 Hz and a mains and generator loading relay output rated 8 A AC 250 V. Deep Sea Electronics lists the DSE5220 as obsolete and names the DSE7320 MKII as its replacement; its notice 056-035 also names the DSE7420 MKII.

What is the DSE5220 used for?

The DSE5220 watches the mains (utility) supply, starts the generating set when the mains fails and switches the load with its loading relay output. Its RS232 or RS485 port links it to a remote PC or a building management system.
