About the Deep Sea Electronics DSE5120

The DSE5120 is the auto mains (utility) failure module of DSE's DSE5110 and DSE5120 pair. DSE says it includes all the features of the DSE5110 plus the ability to monitor a mains (utility) supply, and it adds a TEST button. DSE's data sheet gives it a mains (utility) supply input of 15 V (L-N) to 333 V AC (L-N) and a generator and mains loading relay rated 8 A at 240 V, on the same 8 V to 35 V DC supply and 220 mm x 160 mm cut-out as the DSE5110. Deep Sea Electronics lists the DSE5120 as obsolete and names the DSE7320 MKII as its replacement.

What is the DSE5120 used for?

The DSE5120 watches the mains (utility) supply and starts the generating set when the mains fails, then stops it once the mains is restored. It also protects the engine and shows faults on its LCD display and LEDs.
