About the Deep Sea Electronics DSE5510

The DSE5510 is an automatic engine control module that DSE designed to provide load share functions for diesel and gas generating sets with non-electronic and electronic engines. Its synchronising functions include automatic synchronising with a built-in synchroscope and closing onto a dead bus, with outputs for the speed governor and the automatic voltage regulator (AVR). DSE designed it to combine up to 16 generators and 16 mains (utility) supplies, a maximum of 20 in one system, with a DSE5560 needed to synchronise with the mains. Deep Sea Electronics lists the DSE5510 as obsolete and names the DSE8610 MKII as its replacement.

What is the DSE5510 used for?

The DSE5510 controls one generating set in a multi-set load share system: it starts the engine, synchronises the set onto the bus and shares load with the other sets. It drives the governor and AVR through its isolated outputs.
